In a do or die game to reach the Grand final we were very positive in our actions.
There were some tough decisions at selections but the boys have been fantastic in dealing with this.
Having played the Saints a few times now in close proximity we were well aware of where their strengths were.
The team selections reflected the way we wanted to play and it showed from the first bounce and being able to lock it in our forward 50.
The boys played great link up footy and for the most part kept our lines and structure. This helped us have repeat forward entries and apply scoreboard pressure.
A great win in the end and a massive boost to team morale after being touched up the previous week.
We know what needs to be done for the final so a plan is in place.
GRAND FINAL BABY!!
Let’s do this boys.

Hi all, Saturday we played Christies Beach at Port Noarlunga to book a spot in the Grand Final against Reynella. Christies play a contested game of footy and when they are playing well, they are hard to stop. We needed to match them in the contest and outrun them everywhere else.  I am pleased to say that we ran out winners 13.8 to Christies Beach 3.12.
We had even contributors throughout the game with every player having good moments.
Thanks

Our girls did themselves and the club proud on Sunday winning back-to-back premierships and showing a determination and fight that has been the hallmark of the female football program here at Flaggies since its beginnings.
The players have been again so lucky this year to be supported and backed by wonderful volunteers who give up their time and energy to get the team onto the field each week.
I would firstly like to thank Dean Renfrey and Kym Mitchell for the work they put into the girls during the preseason and in the early part of the season which really set up the team to have another successful finals campaign.
Michael Hegarty our forward line coach and Derek Bird our back line coach have also been amazing supporters, mentors and friends to the girls this season and their input to the group throughout the year has been greatly appreciated.
Sam Sobey and Colin Russell, our trainers, are always amazing and always have the best interest of players at heart.
Kate Williams taking on the team managers role along with all her other responsibilities and not missing a beat has again been fantastic.
Sarina Barsby and Cath Cavouras who both spoke to the group with such passion and emotion prior to our GF your love for this group is what holds teams together
To all the mums, dads, boyfriends, girlfriends, grandads, grandma’s friends that helped along the way and a special thanks to Peter O’Connor and Neil Williams who did almost every role except play this year great job all and thank you.
It’s our turn now to get behind all of our boys/men’s teams as they chase their grand final dreams

Well after almost 9 months of hard work we had reached the Grand Final, which is a fantastic achievement. Conditions down at Aldinga were less than ideal with strong winds all day, some rain and hail. In the first quarter Christies took the most of their opportunities kicking 2 goals to no score, although we did have plenty of the ball we failed to capitalise. In the second it continued to be an arm wrestle and with rain falling meant that ball movement was limited, however we got some reward for effort off the back of a very nice goal from Cascia Smailes in the pocket. Being 5 points down at the half we knew that a big third quarter was needed and to the girls credit they began to take control of the contest and get some good looks inside forward 50. When Mel Anderson kicked a very nice goal from 40 we hit the front in the last few minutes of the quarter before Christies scored a late behind to draw level at the break. The final quarter was again a hot contest with neither teams’ defence being beaten and the siren sound all tied up at 13 a piece! Playing 5mins each way of extra time was required to split the two teams. We were unable to capitalise on our opportunities while Christies scored a late goal in both halves of extra time to win by 2 goals. It was devastating for the team to end the season in this way, however I was so proud of the resilience they showed all year and especially in the final game. Ebony Scanlan was simply outstanding, while Brooke Kleinig and Jasmin Partridge were terrific in their roles too. While we weren’t able to overcome the final hurdle the girls must be congratulated on an outstanding season, the future is certainly looking bright. Thank you to all that supported the 17s this season too!
Cheers,

We headed to Marion oval with no expectations apart from giving it a red hot go and enjoying our footy. Pregame we had a focus on how we were going to play Marions looong oval and put up a solid contest against Woodville South who had soundly beaten us 2 weeks ago by 109 points.
We lost the toss and kicked into a fairly stiff breeze in the 1st qtr and we hit the ground running kicking 3 goals to nil. The boys were up and about. Frustratingly our 2nd qtr structure fell away and we lost our momentum. From Half time it was a slog and scoring for either team was difficult. The boys dug deep but fell agonisingly short by a solitary point.
While this was heartbreaking for the group, this was a tremendous effort to almost create a massive boilover.
I want to say a massive thankyou to all 49 lads that had a run with us during the season and particularly the lads that came and supported the team on Sunday.
A massive thanks to my Assistants… Dave Smith and  Simon Johnson, Team Manager… Damien Keating, Trainer… Shane Lees, Ground Marshall Greg Chaplin, Boundary Ump… Jimmy Brennan and Trotty doing the Goal Umpiring.
The support for the group was amazing from family members and Flaggy supporters.
Sunday footy gave so many kids a chance to have a kick when otherwise wouldn’t have and this is invaluable in developing our lads to continue in their footy journeys and enjoy footy at Flagstaff Hill.
THANK YOU ALL.
WE ARE ONE IN ’21
Cheers, Bunga,
