Friday Night Final

Friday night SFL – After 2 heavy losses to our opponent this season, including an 81 point loss to Reynella only 13 days earlier, we knew we needed a new game plan for this knockout final. We rolled out the game plan, the boys bought into it and we then trained to it all week. It worked, 16 minutes into the 3rd quarter we were 2 goals in front, having also missed 3 shots at goal which we can only reflect on now. Unfortunately they kicked 2 late goals and then found the gear they were looking for in the last quarter. We could not be prouder of the way the boys executed the plan and gave everything they had on the night, as a coach you cannot ask for more. These boys showed great growth during the shortened season and I look forward to following their footy journey in years to come. Proud.

Grand Final Wrap Up

We would like to thank all flaggies supporters for their support on the weekend. To have the red army there supporting the girls meant a lot and especially the senior men players who attended and have been great supporters of the girls all year.
To all of our volunteers, thank you for an amazing season with your help and love, the girls were given confidence and strength to get the job done.
Special mention to Vanetta and Sam who were the trainers for the girls this year and did an amazing job getting the girls up for games each week not to mention the KMs of strapping.
Coaches Dean Renfrey, Michael Hegarty, Pete Cavouras thank you for all your energy, footy knowledge and honesty
To every player that has played this season congratulations you are part of this premiership.
We now commence our 2021 planning!

Semi Final V Athelstone @ Athelstone
F.H. 4.6.30 Def By Ath 6.13.49

We headed to Athelstone knowing a G.F. was up for grabs.Even though we were soundly beaten by the Raggies last time out, I felt the boys had confidence to turn the tables. The lads had a real dip in the 1st quarter and set the tone with a tackle count of 22.Even though our endeavor never wavered for the rest of the game, we just couldn’t get the score on the board. In the end going down by 3 goals but we couldn’t of been prouder of the boys hearts.

This was echoed throughout the season and the boys should be commended for their efforts. The SANFL comp is a great fit for our club which allowed so many lads to continue to grow in their footy progression. Thanks to all that supported the U16.5s this season, it was most appreciated.

All the best to the A Grade, B Grade and U17.5s this weekend.
